My degree in philosophy has been critical to my jobs in two ways: it has helped me ask better questions and clearly advocate for why my point of view is the right course of action to take.
When did you graduate from VCU?
I graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in philosophy and a B.S. in economics. I've also completed two data science boot camps: Data Science for All and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Where did your career path take you post graduation?
After I graduated from VCU, I worked as a research assistant at Economic Policy Institute where I did economic research. I then went to work at The Vision Council as a research analyst where I did quantitative market research.
What is your current role?
Currently, I am a quantitative market research consultant at Known Media. My role entails developing compelling stories using marketing frameworks and insights.
What is your take on how a philosophy degree prepares students for success in their future careers?
