Meet our Tutors!
Meet Rose!
Hello! My name is Rose Detore (she/her). I am dual majoring in Philosophy (Science) and Biomedical Engineering (Cellular, Tissue, and Regenerative) on a Pre-Medical track. I decided to major in philosophy mainly due to a personal interest in the intersection of philosophy and medicine, and I felt quickly adopted into VCU’s welcoming Philosophy Department. I hope to go to medical school for neurosurgery and bring more attention to what philosophy can contribute to medicine.
I can primarily tutor for PHIL 201 – Intro to Ethics, PHIL 222 – Logic, PHIL 391 – Philosophy of Medicine, PHIL 103 – Ancient Greek and Medieval Western Philosophy, and PHIL 104 – Modern Western Philosophy.
A fun fact about me is that I was originally a Music Performance major (cello).
Meet Rebecca!
Meet Sana!
Hi, my name is Sana Singh (she/her) and I'm majoring in Psychology & Philosophy with a minor in Statistics. I added Philosophy as a second major after taking Intro to Ethics, and really enjoyed the overlap of psych and philo since two fields complement each other! Career-wise, I plan to pursue my PhD in Clinical Psychology, and in my freetime, I like drawing, doing my nails (Gel-X!), and playing games.
I can primarily tutor for PHIL 201: Intro to Ethics, PHIL 222: Logic, and PHIL 430: Philosophy of Religion, but I'm happy to help with most philosophy classes.
A fun fact about me is I'm a huge animal person and hope to have a bunch of pets when I'm older!
